Brentt Blackmon, AMFT, APCC
I work with athletes, especially Black male and youth athletes, who are navigating the space between “who I was” and “who I’m becoming.” My clients often come to me in moments of transition — graduating, changing teams, leaving the game, or recovering from setbacks.
I specialize in identity work, breaking through mental blocks, and building tools for resilience. My approach is culturally conscious, strengths-based, and rooted in the belief that we are all mirrors — I help you see the strength, clarity, and potential already inside you.
My work is grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Brainspotting, mindfulness, and other evidence-based modalities, which I integrate to support deep healing, resilience, and personal growth. I also support clients in recovery, blending performance strategies with trauma-informed care to help them thrive both on and off the field.
While my focus is athletes, I welcome individuals from all backgrounds who are seeking personal growth and emotional balance. I am an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (#15962) and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (#20198) at The Turner Practice, supervised by Lauren Turner, LCSW. I am currently deepening my expertise in sport and performance psychology to better serve clients’ mental and emotional needs.
